A Day Off!

I am not use to working every day and am very thankful that I have tomorrow off! I hope that I get to get this house back in order and maybe do a little bit of crafting! I know I have a couple baby gifts to finish and another project I want to get started on. Here is hoping I will have a successful day tomorrow!

If you could please excuse the no make-up and stringy hair. These early mornings do not like me! Laken was born last Wednesday and is the most precious little girl! I think I have a new best friend! :)

8 Things!!

8 Things You Didn't Know About Me... Until Now!!

1. My favorite color is pink and I wear it everyday in some form.

2. I am in school at the University of Phoenix to obtain my bachelors degree in Elementary Education. (Okay, some of you may have known that!)

3. I write children's books, although none of them have been published. I do have plans for that soon though! I just bought my book with all of the publishers! :) I will never be Dr. Seuss.

4. I am a painter and my favorite medium is watercolor although I have done a few acrylics. My favorite watercolor painter is Van Gogh and I have recreated many of his works.

5. I sign all of my paintings differently, my acrylics are generally signed Emilie. (Emilie is not a part of any of my name, it was actually my name in French class in high school.)

6. I am terrified of crickets! I have tried to get over this fear, Shannon even brought some home in a bucket to try to help this phobia. I touched one the other day so maybe there has been some progress.

7. I am a Star Wars fanatic and I will watch it over any new show that is on television any day!

8. I was the only female on the golf team in high school. Some say I was great! When I was little I wanted to go to the LPGA...(Too bad I haven't played in a while)

Oh how I love Saturday's!!

Well, we thought that it was going to rain today and we were going to have to stay inside all day! That wouldn't be a very fun afternoon now would it?

The day started out like any other, I got to get my beauty rest while Shannon woke up at sunrise to go turkey hunting. (I didn't even think that he went turkey hunting, I guess I learn things every day). Then, he came back home to go to sleep while I got up, ate my breakfast, and waited until my mom came to eat lunch! :) Of course, I couldn't eat without Shannon so I basically watched mom eat her pizza! When Shannon woke up we got to eat at one of my favorite places!!!

Of course, I didn't go all out and get the largest hamburger that they had... I do not think I can handle it.

Then, we decided to spend some quality time together on the green. The golf course that is.

Well, I won so I guess it was a good day!! :) All it took to complete the day was a lemonade slush from Sonic!! AHHHH!!!

Now for some quiet time alone at the house! :)

Last Day of My Break!!!

Well, tonight is the last day of my "break" from school. I had a week off in between classes and I will not finish again until the Tuesday before the wedding. I really hope that I can handle this hectic schedule that my school has handed me for these next two months.

Saving Money Isn't Always Easy

I try to do everything I can to save money! The latest project I have attempted is to print out my own wedding invitations. I looked into it a little before I decided to go on this journey and it did not seem like it would be that bad. Little did I know that I would have to jump through hoops to make it all happen.

My mother, being the sweetheart that she is bought the invitations at Wal-Mart whenever Shannon and I became engaged. We were relieved because we had everything that we needed all we had to do was print them out. Well, since we had a year long engagement we waited until three months before the wedding to start the printing process. Since we have waited for nine months now to start we were traumatized to find out that the invitations came only 25 to a box and not 50 like she first thought. This would have been fine if Wal-Mart still had the invitations in their inventory.

To get the same invitations, we looked everywhere. When I say everywhere I do mean that we went to 4 different Wal-Mart's and even looked at their online store. No Luck!! I went to the on-line store of the company and after two days of actually looking through everything on their site I finally found them!!! So I ordered them, all 3 boxes that I needed. You must think that is the end and the story is over right? Not so much!

I got a call two days later... they do not deliver to PO boxes. SO... I had to get them delivered to my parents house over an hour drive away! Sounds good of course but now I have them and I am having to put them in the printer one sheet at a time. There are 125 invitations with 4 sections to each invitation so therefore, we have 500 sheets of paper that I get to put into the printer individually. Not including the envelopes that will account for 625 peices of paper inserted individually. Oh and I forgot the stickers that seal the envelopes. There are 3 per box so for 5 boxes (2 I already had and the 3 I just had delivered)that would be a total of 640 pieces of paper. I believe that I have a long night ahead of me.

So, moral of the story. If you receive an invitation to my wedding and I find it in the trash please do not get offended if I am horribly upset. :)

Although this may take forever to finish I am glad that I could save money while planning my wedding! I would recommend to anyone, especially someone with a lot of patience!

Starting Over!!

Well, I have been so fortunate to delete all of my blog post since 2009 when I first signed up. I was a little disappointed about it for a little bit but, this does give me a chance to start over. I mean, a lot has changed since 2009!!!

Just a little update:

This is what I am making now for all of my mommies to be, Travel Wipe Cases! Unfortunately I have seven friends who are pregnant at the same time! You would think they would make this easy on me but no, they just had to all do it together!

Hopefully I will be finished with all of them soon and will be able to move on to the next project! :)
